SEPARABLE CONNECTORS
A Separable Connector, also referred to as a Plug-in is a separable cable termination –designed for opening and closing only when a circuit is de-energized. Neither voltage nor current can be present when this type of Separable Connector is opened or closed. Separable Connectors from 3M offer distinct advantages in comparison to conventional terminations.
Very short distances from phase to phase.
Compact design & High Safety features.
Provides protection in the event of an accidental contact of person to phase.
No need for protection plates between phase to phase.
Submersion of the Separable Connector and the equipment is possible.
Maintenance free.
The 3M Separable Connector is designed to ensure peak performance and maximum safety.
Silicone / EPDM insulation body – ensures radial pressure on cable primary insulation and bushing interface.
Inner semi-conductive screen - Silicone screen controls electrical stress around connecting devices.
Outer semi-conductive layer – this painted / molded layer that is connected to ground, guarantees safety to personnel, minimum distance among phases and to ground, and ensures protection in the event of accidental contact.
